If after replacing the  alternator your gauge still reads low oil press. Get ahold of a mech oil pressure gauge and test the pressure specs for an 86 22r is 36-71psi at 3k rpms, at idle i would assume no lower than 30psi. Hey Jew check the blinker fluid. It has been known to make a Jeep engine Rattle and knock if it is low.
