1988 dodge ramcharger. 5.2L v8, NP435L 4 speed tranny with granny gear first(6.69:1 ratio!), NP241 transfer case, D44 CAD front, 9.25 rear. im the third owner, last one had it since 1991. 157,000 miles. 100% stock except for radio, wheels, bull bar, and steps. thats soon to change though. planning on trying to do a "resto-mod" type of build, leaving it classic looking, with some mods to have some fun with.

before we get started, THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE A GAS SAVER. i understand the MPG i get in this, and im ok with that. i bought this because ive always wanted one, and this one is in amazing shape minus a few small broken interior pieces.

stuff that has been done so far:
-new belts
-new hoses
-new wires
-new spark plugs
-new fuel pump
-new air filter/oil catch filter
-new red paint(3 years old-needs buffed and waxed)
-manual locking hubs
-8,000 RPM tachometer
-aftermarket am/fm/cd/casset(forget the brand, was a freebie but i dont want a nice system in an offroad toy.
-kenwood 6x9 speakers rear
-VR3 6x9 speakers front
-muffler delete. just dumped the cat
-herculined interior(cargo area still has carpet for camping)

future plans:
-6" lift(Within the month hopefully)
-35x12.50 AT's or MT's
-black wheels with a mean offset to get the wheels out of the fender
-roof rack
-front and rear bumper
-herculined exterior from the rockers down
-6bt swap(Way down the road)

ill be building the bumpers and roof rack myself, although it will be my first fabbing job. going to school this summer for welding, MIG TIG and stick. being 20, not that experienced yet. bough a chop saw, metal shears, and looking for a tubing bender.

guess thats all for now

Welcom to the site!  Thats a clean Ram Charger, I had one as a kid, it was a ton of fun but not nearly that sharp.  Take care of it!

Thanks. It was repainted by the previous owner about three years ago. The red was added, the rockers left the stock color, a dark slate gray.

went looking for a lift kit for the ramcharger yesterday, and bought this instead. buying this was cheaper then lift/tires for the RC.

1992 isuzu trooper, 3" body lift, 35x12/50's still with the nipples on them, hardwired Cobra CB, air shocks in the back for towing, and front and rear hitch recievers. planning on building some cheap bumpers for it, doing some coil spacers and cranking the t-bars, and just wheeling it till it breaks.

That is NICE!  I had a 1987 trooper many years ago.  That thing was a billy goat!  It would go almost anywhere.

I think the Trooper is one of the more under-appreciated SUVs.

Definitely is... I was sold on it as soon as I drove it. And after reading some stuff on them online they seem to be able to do some awesome things with just few mods
