I saw the pistons and rods going in it today. Man! They look too good to drop in the motor. I will have to make sure I take it easy for a bit with those aluminum pistons. The MSD detonation problem I have now needs to be adressed before this motor gets dropped in.

Ok still messin with the builder.  He said the kit for the stroker was $1200.00.  I have pre-paid him $1500.00 at this point.   During the build he noticed the block was cracked afterf he said it was ok and allready done the machine work.  he forked up a hundered and bought a new block for me.  Now his profit is down to $200.00.  Which 150 of it went to the copper head gasket....that he said I was getting anyway, and another hundred to him porting and polishing the head.  So he is breaking even...or is he not?  He will have my motor tomorrow but should I pay him any more?

THAT DEPENDS ON WHAT THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT WAS. IF HE SAID PLUS PARTS ETC. THEN YOU NEED TO FORK IT UP. BUT IF IT WAS A FINAL PRICE TO DO ALL. THEN HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INCRUING CHARGES, UNLESS YALL CAN COME TO AN AGREEMENT. HE MAY KEEP SLIDING YOU TO THE BACK BURNER SINCE HE KNOWS HE IS NOT MAKING A PROFIT. IT DOESNT TAKE THAT LONG TO PUT A MOTOR TOGETHER, AS YOU KNOW!

Ok, I have been battling with the builder.  He had to re-grind the crank a bit wider on the connecting rod journals.  He will be setting it up today at lunch and if he does not finish it he will be coming in tomorrow....even on his day off to get it done.  He is actually loosing a hundred or 2 on this deal and he said we will settle up later, if at all.  Should I help him out if I know he is in the red?

YALL COULD WORK OUT A DEAL ON THE NEXT JOB OR JUST SPLIT IT WITH HIM. WAIT AND SEE IF HE COMPLETES THE DEAL AND IT RUNS LIKE A SCALDED A$$ APE.

Ok I got my stroker motor from the guy, buy he screwed me.  He did not put a cam in it.  I have the stock camshaft.

So...I have a stroked out bottom end and a re-built top end.

The motor runs a bit rough at idle and is VERY Rich.  Low end power seems to be lacking.  Power curve when turbo actually spools up is great.

Since i have a stroked out bottom end.....I would imagine I need a camshaft to match...right?  To get by right now...should I clock the cam a tooth or 2 or should I advance or retard the timing?

What do you guys think?

Ok I replaced the Baro Sensor and cleaned out the VAM.  She stopped smoking and the motor is running good.  Still missing a bit of the bottom end....I attest that to not having a good camshaft.

Its back on the table. I am rebuilding my spare i ore and plan on completing the swap by shiloh. I am going to put a 2.5 crank and rods in my 2.3 block. I will have to use the 2.5 journal caps and stack the lower bearings because the 2.3 block has a big journal. I will have custom pistons shortened to accomidate the added stroke. Gonna be a true stroker baby!

Only as bad as you imagine it.  I have not yet mic'ed out the donor crank yet, but if is small journal I will use the 2.5 main caps and will only have to stack the lower bearings.  Here is a pic of the donor 2.5.

I will be using the 2.5 rods and have custom pistons made.  I am getting CP Carillo pistons and rings.  Here is the math:

Deck to crank center - 8.368
2.5 Crank stroke       - 1.7
2.5 rods                   - 5.4
2.3 Pistons @ 3.80 Bore = 1.268 piston hight

2.5 block is weak for turbo. Main journals can not handle 400 hp. It alao is a distributorless ignition. No hole for distributor. Too much money and work to make that system worth while.
