So far I've cleaned all the old **** out of it and started shaping the old body. Going to comp cut the rear and dove tail it. [image]local://453/56EA010A75C4435E8873A7083A6AECB7.jpg[/image]

Cool! A flat fender project! So what plans do you have for it and what are you going to do with the old parts? I understand you're going to dove tail it, but what exactly does "comp cut" mean? Oh, and post up more pics please!

I just noticed something. It looks like the hole for the gas tank is on the passenger side. Only reason I mention that is because mine is on the driver side, and I thought they were all on the driver side?

Man oh man, this brings back memories!! I have a Willy's tub sitting in the garage that I have moved from state to state over the last few years that I was going to make a buggy out of. (HOLY SMOKES!! Its been almost a decade!!) Still in the works, its just a ways back on the list. Post lots of pics, once I get the Firebird back on the road this project might inspire me to get moving on my little Jeep too. My tub already has 3/16" heavy plate wrapped all around the rear, from in front of the door openings to the tailgate, so Im not going to do the dove tail or any of that. Im actually planning to go a different direction by stretching the tub 18", adding a second row of seating and caging the **** out of it and putting 14bolt/D60 or Rockwells under it. (Leaning toward the Rockwells) Anyways, at this point its all a dream... Its atleast one project behind at this point! LOL! Post progress pics or a link from time to time so we can watch the build.

ORIGINAL: Screamin Lizard This board is very hard to post photos Easiest way to post photos that I have found...open an account on "photobucket.com" and upload your photos to there. Then when you want to put photos on here, or anywhere for that matter, I open two windows (photobucket and whatever else). All you do is left click on the "direct link" address under your pic and it will say "copied", then paste that address in the image pop-up and you're good to go. Some sites have the "http" in the beginning of the pop-up window, just delete that so that what you paste is all that's in there and when you say "OK" it will show up in your post. If you get a red "X", you've done something wrong.

Works for me...... I figured it out with a little trial and error, I don't know what you're doing wrong.

your copying the wrong link matt. You grabbed the link that just takes you TO the picture. There should be another one there with the image that looks like <img src...blah blah html stuff. That one will embed the image.

Well, it was a little slow at work today, so I did manage to work on the Willys. The rear is dove tailed, and I started bending tube for the frame. I took photos but for some reason my camera wont download, weird! Mybe more progress tomorrow.

Judging from the split windshield, it looks to be a CJ2A: Noooo!!!! Poor, rare little CJ2A, getting cut up like that. As penance for your sins, you must give, yes give away FREE, to the rest of us CJ2A owners in the club any and all original parts no longer being used. Just kidding! It's your flattie, and looks like you're on the way to building a mean flatfender trail rig. Keep us posted with more pics and details, and please keep the rest of us flatfender owners in mind if you plan on selling any parts from yours!

What kind of body did you get? Aluminum, steel, or fiberglass? Can't wait to see the progress. Keep it coming.
