I need to widen my wheels a couple of inches. Does anyone know where I can get this done and about what it might cost?

As opposed to buying new wheels?

The cost depends on what kind of wheel, how big and how you want to alter the backspacing of the wheel.

It can cost as little as $100 per wheel but can top $300 each.  Figure in the cost of getting the wheels shipped to the shop and back and it really can be cheaper just to buy new wheels and dump your existing wheels on craigslist.

I'm attached to the wheels I have. The are exactly what I'm looking for to complete the theme of my build. I need them widened to 10" from 7" while keeping the same backspacing. Being steel wheels I figured it can't be too expensive. I'll check out the link.

DOESNT SOUND LIKE IT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT IF YOU ARE TRYING TO GET THEM WIDENED. SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF TROUBLE WAITING TO HAPPEN.

Is this to accommodate wider tires?  Will spacers help what you are trying to accomplish?

Yes it's to accomodate a wider tire. With a 7" rim its hard to find a 38" tire that is narrow enough, most are 13" wide. As for it being trouble, it's a very common thing in the hotrod community to widen wheels. Basically what is done is they take out the center and place it in a new rim that's the correct width. I've seen several DIY versions but I don't trust myself with this one.

Eh, I've always wanted to build one like I am and I don't wanna build it twice. You're more than welcome to come help if you'd like.
