my trailer was stolen last night.  it is 16 'red with wood panels with 4 red wheels with no plates and it has a receiver hitch on back and reverse lights.  let me know if you spot it.  will find pics of it later.

Sorry to hear that dave. Did you have a lock on it? Those things are stolen all the time.

yep it had a trimax lock on it....should have used the boot.   it was stolen out of my front yard during the night.  I sleep with a fan on and did not hear anything.  I been trying to find pics of it but don't have to many.

Wow, that sux!  Hope they are caught and the trailer returns home.

I do have to ask though, very curious as I have never seen it...why the trash bags on the wheels?

I figure the bags keep the sun off the tires preventing dry rot.

Cool, learned something new today..Thanks!  Probably should bag my boat trailer tires but it is probably too late for them.  Probably need to get a new set if I ever decide to pull the boat out of the water.

cheapest way to keep them from jacking it is to set it up on jack stands if its gonna sit for a while that's what my dad used to do with our race car trailer. its kinda hard to drag a trailer with no wheels un-noticed and it'll only set you back the price of the jack stands and you can have your tires safely locked up in the garage away from the weather and thiefs.

If I must leave mine in the front I park a vehicle right in front of it so they would need to steal/move the vehicle first. But I usually keep mine behind a wooden fence, trail rig and mean nasty dog :)

                                  Dave,

Your trailer has some very distinctive features, Do you have the VIN should I find it? Is there a police report with the VIN entered into TCIC/NCIC database?

pm sent.   I also found out they stoled my neighbors license plates from his truck.  My question is do police departments share info to one another?

Yes they do, i work with the FWPD/HCPD/SPD.. basically all the cities that MedStar covers.  The stolen information is put in a database. and when PD looks up the L/P number it will pop up stolen/red flag or if the plates state for a pink dodge ram, and they are on a blue honda civic, then the cop should look into it.

but granted they have to get pulled over for them to run that.  and if they never get pulled over or the plates never get run, then the cops would not know.

someone did see two men in a dark extended pu trying to hitch the trailer up.  But it was already on the street and they did not know it was stolen.  this was at 2:00 am .   Looking at survillance camera's now.   Keep on looking.
