Laura, I only have a temporary membership card. I never got a permanent card with a membership #. I did get the postcard, though. Can I just vote by putting my name on the postcard?

Yes...you can still vote In the space for your TMTC# notate that you only have a temp card and when you joined(ie:Dec 05). We can varify your membership with just the name..usually.   For your vote to count you would have to be a member as of Jan 1, 2006.

Seriously, don't delay....we need a quorum of members to vote to have a legal election...so...if we have 3000 members....we need at least 30 of ya'll to vote...and you wouldnt believe how hard that is to do. I just voted.    Hey, help support TMTC and our club.  Be sure and let Gary know that you are member of DFW-TX4WD.  I think that this will help promote our club, TMTC and the hobby we all enjoy.   If able, you could always attend in person at BMRA.  I had that in my plans, but 2 of 3 vehicles are dead right now, so I get everything back running.

I'm ashamed to say that despite years of visiting BMRA, I only recently became a member in the middle of January of this year. Hence, the reason I only have a temp card with no membership number yet. So I reckon my vote doesn't count. Otherwise, I'd be glad to vote online if I could.

I'm glad someone will get to do some wheeling saturday. My Hubby will be out there...somewhere. I'm bringing presents for everyone who shows up to the General Member meeting...just a little something to help ya'll cool off.

I wrote the following for the TMTC newsletter, but since it won't go out til after the elections, I figured I'd share it online.... ON VOTING I know that not everyone has the time to volunteer, but you can do your part by voting. Voting is not easy. You just now got your neswletter in the mail and can barely make the deadline for the election. Of course you can go to BMRA and fill out a ballet or even wait til the General Membership meeting in July and cast you ballet then. But now your thinkin'...But I don't even know these candidates...and there's just one for each position so what difference will my vote make. Why should I make the effort. My vote won't change anything. Whoever is on the ballet will end up in the position they are running for anyway. Maybe you're partially right there. If a quorum of the members does not vote, then the candidates are not elected. Then I guess, we have choices....one being....hold another election ...probably at the next General Membership meeting. Leaving those positions unmanned for 6 months and critically impeding any progress the board can make. Or having the remaining board appoint members to those positions....and those would more than likely be those that are running for the positions. In a perfect world there would be 2 or 3 candidates for each position. Giving us a race or a contest, leaving extra volunteers to take on appointed positions after the elections. And that could happen. Please take the time to vote. It is important. And the board has done a lot this past year and to be honest they deserve the membership to stand behind them and let them know what they are doing is important to you. You may even want to consider your vote to be more of a vote in favor of what TMTC has accomplished instead of a vote for each individual office. If you check the boxes and vote you're in favor of TMTC if you throw the ballots in the trash then you ......well, just don't do that. Ok, I'm finally running for the board in the At Large Rep position .....so what I really meant to say was.... Vote for me! Vote for me!
