May not go

Sorry folks, but it looks like I may not be able to go to Mega Run this year.  I've been busy dealing with some personal family issues as of late that require my undivided attention.  Hence, the reason why I haven't been as active on the board as much these past couple of weeks.  I just have to take care of this pressing business before I can partake of the luxury that is our passion and hobby - wheeling and off-roading with friends and family.  I'm not going away or anything, and I still plan on being part of the club.  Heck, after 7 to 8 years of brand bashing, wrenching, wheeling, parts and rig purchases (bought two 4x4s from y'all!), this club has become like a 2nd family to me anyway.
 
I already pre-paid and registered, but I'm not looking for a refund or anything.  The club treasury can keep the funds if it needs it.  Who knows, there's still a small chance I may get to go anyway, but the way things look right now, it's doubtful.  When all this blows over, I look forward to getting back in the saddle and being more active again - hopefully in a month or two.

Ed we hope you can make it but if not good luck getting things straigtend out

Also, if someone will remind me, I can pick up Ed's bag of stuff and bring it to him after MR7.  Would save postage and give me a chance to look at the cool lil' Jeep again.

You should go to MR just to get away for a day!  A heavy dose of wheelin in the woods can only make things better...

Thanks for the replies, amigos.  As you can see, I couldn't go, although I really would've wanted to.  It just so happens that even if I didn't have any pressing issues to tend to, I wouldn't have been able to go anyway.  I've been real sick battling a nasty stomach flu for two days that wound me up badly dehydrated in the emergency room last night.  Right now I'm still weak and woozy, but I thought I'd take some comfort in visiting the forum, saying hi and living vicariously through y'all whooping it up at Mega Run.  Please post as many pics as you can!  And Billy, that'd be great if you could bring back my bag of goodies.  Thanks, and happy wheeling....

Thanks for the kind words, Dave, and thanks, Billy, for picking up my goody bag.  As it stands, it may not have been a stomach virus after all.  I'm still sick and have lost alot of weight (as skinny as enough as I was to begin with).  Went down from 185 lbs last summer to 152 lbs this morning at the doctor's.  I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease a few years ago (don't worry, it ain't contagious!), and looks like the stress from my personal issues was just too much and gave me a really bad flare-up of Crohn's.  Haven't eaten since last Thursday and am feeling fairly weak and woozy, but still alive and kicking!  When this is all over, I'll need to go wheeling to celebrate!

Ed let us know when your ready and we will rally the forces for a run get better fast man

Like Tony said, we will do an "Ed Wheeling run" when you are ready.

Thanks amigos!  As it stands, I was sicker than I thought.  I've been in the hospital these past few days and just got home.  Much better now, but still kind of weak.  Will definitely need to forget the miserable experience with a good wheeling run when I'm back to 100%!

When it rains it pours.  The very next morning after my last post I ended up in the hospital yet again.  Just got out today.  Turns out it was my gall bladder giving me fits this whole time.  Doc removed it yesterday evening.  I just hope it really was that and the endless days of wretched vomiting and horrible pain are finally over with.  Needless to say, I'm a bit sore from the surgery, and believe it or not even skinnier than before, but man am I glad to be back home and out of the hospital!

Aside from prayer, faith in God and the support of family and friends, another thing that kept me going those nights laid up in the hospital was thinking of all the cool things I wish I could do to my rigs - ha!  Two more inches of lift up front on the Bronco, re-gear it, Hammer-style bumpers, etc.  For the CJ2A - make it street legal to show it off around town and wheel it some more at Gilmer.  For the Tacoma, ARB bumper up front, rhino-line the bed, and add some sliders.  Wishful thinking, though!

As it stands, I'm afraid when I get the insurance co-pay bill I may have to sell one or two of the rigs.  We'll see what happens, though, when the bills arrive.  For now, I'll settle with daydreaming going up those hill climbs at Gilmer in the little CJ in its mostly stock form!

Man Ed I don't know how I missed this with you in the hospital and such! I feel terrible that I didn't respond here and having not given you a call. I am very sorry for not contacting you to help out.
