Manhunter checking in .....

Hey guys, hope all is well with all of you. I wanted to stop in and say hi and update you with what has been going on with me. I transferred to Houston at the end of March and love the change. Just before the transfer, started having issues with the 4runner and sad to say had to part with it, ...., this really broke my heart with all that I had done, but especially with the bumper that Slyder had made. The good news though, is that I replaced it with a 2010 Flame Red Wrangler Sport. I am loving it but have not taken it off-road yet since it is barely broke in. Any way, like I said, hope all are doing well and maybe I will get to come to Megarun XII. Happy Trails, Manhunter

Good to hear from you David. And good to hear all is well. Sorry to hear that you had to part with the Yota, and that it was replaced by a jeep. LOL. I too have a new rig. Still a tracker, but 2 more doors and much bigger. Hope to see you sometime!

Glad to hear all worked out well with the transfer and good to see you back on the forum. Hmm, you did say Jeep right? Once it leaves the lot it is broken in enough to hit the trails Hope you do get to make it to MR.

Great to hear from you! Did you ever hook up with the Houston chapter? Was it the V6 engine that was giving you problems? I got a different rig as well, I bought a 85 4runner with a few mods. Hope to wheel with you at MegaRun and break in the Jeep.

I have not hooked up with the Houston Jeep People yet, but still plan to. Actually I met many of them at the Fall Run last October, which is when the problems with my 4runner started. Took on a trail that I should not have attempted and broke my right cv. Drove for several months without one and then after Christmas, bought an aftermarket one (first BIG mistake) and installed it. It apparently was not totally the correct fit and jammed up my front diff, which in turn jammed up the transfer case and basically blew it up. Had to replace the transfer case, right cv, and some of the electronics that control them. I decided it was time to move on to something else - but I have to admit, I had been having Jeep fever for awhile, so this really just gave me an excuse.

Hopefully I will be able to make the MRX. I will try to get some photos of the Jeep posted. Take care.
