Lipan or Bridgeport Labor day weekend? Thursday, August 27, 2009 5:41 PM (permalink)
I am thinking of going to one or the other. Is anyone else actually going? I have not made a run with you all as a group. I have just finished a bunch of work and would love to try out my rig. Let me know what you think, I have not been to either one so let me know which one is better for a shake down run. I will probably just make a day run but could possibly stay Sat or Sunday.

I think we might goto lipan next weekend and camp friday night. We'll see how things turn out though.

After missing B-port this past weekend I will once again make an attempt to be at Lipan this weekend for a day trip. Which day is everyone planning to wheel?

Well I will go to either. Tell me this which one is better? I have not been to either obviously. I would like to run with you guys so Lipan sounds like the place. I am not sure how long I will stay but maybe I will just go to Lipan saturday and then Bridgeport on Sunday.... so pro's and con's on both?

Bridgeport is definitely better wheeling! But Lipan offers camping! And they have no real rules. So you can have a drink while you wheel if you like! Jeremy (90K5) in my opinion it would be a waste on time for you to go to Lipan with the size and capability of your rig. Bridgeport is the place for you!I have not really decided where to go yet!

I have not really decided where to go yet!

Watch where Kevin goes and turn the other way

Seriously, they both have their good and bad points.  Just depends on what you are wanting.  They are both the same size and about the same distance depending on where you live.
Bridgeport: higher cost, many rules (including OHV sticker if you are not current), no overnight...more trails, more variety, more people to hook up with and wheel, parts, food and gas very close
Lipan: cheaper, no rules, camping, cut new trails if you want...not much variety, not well marked trails, bit of a hike for gas and food and farther for parts

Neither has much in the way of facilities.  Bridgeport has a toilet or two, Lipan has a tree or three.  Lipan has a shop with stuff, including compressor, Bridgeport has a gas station or two down the road.

Personally, I like both but for different reasons.  Been to Bridgeport three times so far and Lipan only once, but I will go back to either without hesitation.

Thanks Chris. I seem to have missed every trip to Lipan & B-Port, I def would have been disapointed in Lipan since we won't be camping. I would rather wheel something a bit more challenging, so we will prob go to B-Port..anyone else??

I am thinking of going out again labor day weekend. I have never been to lipan. I just want to wheel. I would also like to camp one night if possible. a night run would be good. Not sure what yet but I want to get out.
