I am hooked

  I got me some BRMA this weekend. Three days of fun in the red dirt. We ran every 3 and 4 trail there. We (Johnsoncountyjeepclub.com) found the club camp site and it looks clean and neat. I was impressed with the park. I will be returning soon. I was wondering why some of the 3 rated trails are way harder than 3? On the other hand some of the 4 trails are a joke. We never saw anybody try dewoody. It is all screwed up. I can't see anything on wheels making it up that without winching and it is rated a 4. Very strange rating system. My lil blue Jeep did real good for no locker in the front. The Detroit in the 9" rear worked perfect. My new swampers are all chewed up now after three long days of thrashing on them. I allmost flipped over backwards a few times on some of the hills with large ledges or rocks. I had to winch up/out about 5 times on Saturday. Wow what a weekend! Is anyone going again soon? I would like to go asap...

I think most of the trails that started as a 3, became chewed up and are harder now. Make the Megarun, you'll see all kinds of people who will try DeWoody. Glad you had a good time.

never been out there, but i really want to go out somewhere that has trails like that can keep you on the edge of your seat.... i wouldnt mine going out there sometime in january, just to get a taste of it before megarun......     till then...gotta pull the tranny on my truck

Dewoody was a 5.  Take a close look at the sign and you will see an outline of a diamond at the bottom that was peeled off.  We plan on going jan 14 .  The other problem is people tend to change/steal signs as a joke making it rough on everybody else. The park is addressing the issue .  glad you had fun.

Grizz?? what were the times for Dewoody for last years MR ?or maybe you can see the DVD for that run,it can be done !!   If you had a blast this time you have to go to the MR this next time.   BTW did you see two of our members there this weekend ? Don (Rubi on 36" IROKS) and Dan (silver tube buggy on 46") running a round up there?

He is locked front and rear on 35" tires.     Here is Steve99 coming up DeWoody (The left side no less ) so fast I didn't have a chance to get two pix since my cheapo digital camera couldn't write to file fast enough.     It can be done if you have the right equipment and driving skill.

Yup... Eagle is heading out there this weekend. We plan to stay the weekend. Plans haven't solidified yet in when we're going and when we're coming home, but I will most likely be heading out on Friday and then home Sunday afternoon. That will give me a good day and a half of wheeling.   Will know more on Thursday when we have our meeting. If you want to pop up at Rudy's on 35 and Teasley (I think it's teasley) that's when we plan to make solid plans on when we're heading out there and what we'll be doing. I'll probably haul out some firewood and camp. Got myself an air mattress now ;)

  I would be willing to bet you cant run up ole de woody with 35" tires now but I could be proven wrong. Since the superlift run two weeks ago it is thrashed big time according to the locals. There were some guys talking about it at the air station. They were locals and they said it was the worst it has ever been. Oh well to something else. I think this weekend might be a little quick for me. I need to lock my front end this weekend. Then I will be ready for the week after that around the 10th or so...
