FNG JKKent

Ok so by my user name im sure you all can tell my names kent. I just purchased a 2011 wrangler sport. Its my first NEW vehicle. Ive had a couple 4x4s that i baught cash in the past that really got me into off roading so im not totally new the scene. So heres a little bit of back ground. Im 21, in the Air Force and a full time aviation student. In school i started muddin with friends that had little 4wd yotas, nissans and what not. I baught a little 88 s10 blazer after high school that i lifted a total of 5" with a shackle and body lift. moved on to a 87 pathfinder that turned out to be a bust.. and now ive finally got a big boy toy wrangler jk! almost everyone i work with has a lifted jeep so i had to go big with mine right off the lot. my JK has the ProComp 3" lift that i had the dealership put in. 15x10 ProComp rims wrapped in 33x12.5 bfg MTs. Went ahead and got some little accesories like the Smittybilt o-sh*t handles and WP tube doors... Im going to shoot for 35s or 37s after i get all the accesories i want. Its gonna take a few years lol... So ive taken the jeep out once on some wet dirt roads and look fwd to going to some of the nearby places around DFW for some real fun soon. Aight well i think thats enough for now. I look forward to being a member of this forum and even more to gettin out on the trails! thanks..

Welcome to the club.   There are many things coming up so try to make it to one.  There will be a meeting in Bedford on the 9th next month so go see the group.   Nice Rig.    

Ill be sure to go out to a few, i just gotta get some peeps i work with to join. And ill mark my sched for the 9th.

Once we get closer to fall there will be a lot more events. I am heading out to Marble Falls next weekend for the 4wheel Part customer appreciation run. Also if you haven't been to BMRA (Gilmer,Tx) that is a great place.

I like my little boy toy Pathfinder very much thank you!  Good lookin jeep man, good luck with all your schooling.  I know its a huge undertaking!

But to be serious Bridgeport is also a great park to wheel at and if you are in ft worth its probably the closest one to ya.  I think a few of my buddies who went last time and I are going out the weekend of sept 24th?  Dont quote me on that date though

His rad did this in the middle of a level 3 trail, and the pathy pulled him the rest of the way back UP the trail in lo range lol

 
Might have had something to do with his rad being a pool skimmer awhile before

jeep on leash! lmao! awesome, mine def wont be that kinda jeep. and ive known about brigdeport for a long time. i planned on taking my blazer there but never got the chance with school and stuff. i might have to check it out here in the near future.

welcome to the club looking good so far. If you plan on wheeling your jk very much you might want to look into evo axle tube inserts and some gussets jk front axles are weak and tend to bend even when wheeled lightly ask drunken mugsy on here or google it youll see what I mean.

Ill def do some research on that cowboy. my biggest issue is voiding the factory warranty. withing the last week ive already had an issue with the 6 speed shift knob ring coming loose so i can only imagine how jeep/chrysler will try to F me over when it comes to axels lol.. @ the same time,,, if i find out the hard way then maybe i can use the extended/overpriced warranty to my advantage lol..

Yeah it worked out pretty sweet.  $150 for a new housing under warranty(As opposed to $1800-$2000).  Then we talked the dealership into letting me take it to a custom shop for install.  Had gussetts/sleeves and an aussie locker thrown in for good measure.  Turned out pretty good.  No problems since.  I highly recommend doing that from the start.  Especially if you are going bigger and higher.
 
Welcome BTW.  Since you have a JK check out Texasjk.com too.  Between these two groups I think I am going wheeling every month this Fall/Winter!

Well knowing the warranty took care of mugsys axels makes me wanna go out to the trails that much sooner. Seeing as my biggest concern is the dealer not honoring the warranty after possibly snapping something out there. How much would i be looking at spending on those gussets/sleeves? As for Oct 14th, sched marked.
