Due to a couple of differing reasons and one being an over-saturation of rain, trail erosion is beginning to become a problem at the Park in Bridgeport....After conferring with another trail attendant today and being updated with a full trail report, it is necessary to get this info out for all who have not been out there lately or are planning on wheeling the Park soon....This is just a heads up to keep everyone updated on the situation there, not to alarm anyone....better safe than sorry.
The Power Line trail drop that runs beside the Twins is now seriously deteriorated and has become almost an impossibility for stock vehicles to get up, as well as several of the level 3 trails that run off of Power Line. The easiest access in and out of the west end section of Power Line (the Twins area)is now the bypass on the far right side of the Twins, next to Hamburger Hill. The "Two Steep" trails that drop from Ridgeline down to Power Line have an enormous seperation near the top, and those trails have been temporarily closed due to the danger of dropping into the crevasse (cones have been placed)...The road in and out of the Spider Web is extremely rutted out, and the creek beds are still muddy, saturated from rainfall.
We are now contemplating cutting another entrance/exit trail on high ground between the main Spider Web trail through the trees and connecting to the Power Line trail on the eastern end (close to the bottom of No Winch Hill)
As the weather gets warmer and drier, and hopefully some trail maintenance, we can work on getting the trails closer to their normal conditions as soon as possible. If you plan on coming out to wheel the Park please just be aware of the current conditions, and be safe!...We would love to see you there
