Carb help Sunday, March 13, 2011 10:25 PM (permalink)

I was rebuilding the carb on my CJ5 and the plastic metering rod lifter broke. Does anyone know where I can get a new one? Every where I have found online doesn't have any in stock. For that matter, does anyone have a used Carter BBD carb they wanna get rid of?

Since it's plastic I debated supergluing it back in place but I have no clue how superglue will hold up to fuel. Anyone know if it will?

The part is way too small to use JB weld on. I looked into weber carbs but they are $$$$. I'm trying to fix it as cheap as possible. The only source I found for the specific part is out of stock. I was hoping to get it inspected this week so I could have it for this coming weekend. This really put a damper on my week.

This is the part I need:

Can you fab one out of metal. Maybe some small stock and a few hours with a dremel tool

He said he has a fairly new oem carb and the weber that was only used for a month.  He hasn't answered me on a price yet.

I appreciate you looking into it for me. I found a weber in Midlothian that I think I'm gonna pick up. It's only had 10 hours of runtime before the guy did a V8 swap.
