Bridgeport rattler

This little guy was coiled up at the gate house this morning, spotted by our first park guest, almost stepped on it...didn't really wanna' kill it(not a snake killer by nature), but thought it would be in the best interest of everyone to go ahead and cut the head off, which he did...coiled up in striking position and hit a few rattles just before the sign pole took him out...measured out right at 24", not a baby but not an fully grown adult either...first one we've seen out here, pretty cool.

After about 2 1/2 hours the headless rattlesnake was still slithering around.....creepy!

wow good thing they spotted it first, that thing is really young normally they run about four ft long and about 1"half to two inch across. that was a young one keep a sharp eye out yall theres probably plenty more where that one came from.

Definately a baby, best to avoid him as babies don't control their venom well and are more agressive!
