Bridgeport "Work Day" run
Saturday, June 13, 2009 4:00 PM
( permalink)
So what is the game plan for the Bridgeport run on the 20th? For those who don't know, Bridgeport's Northwest Park is not officially open yet, but they hold occasional work days. Lately, work consists of showing up and running trails...and perhaps a little brush and limb trimming. Basically, free wheeling from 9a to 4p. Day trip, no camping, we must clear out by 4 and saturday only. There are a few other posts in this category with location, map and directions. Anyway, for the March run, many of us met up at JR's Cafe in Saginaw (business 287/Saginaw Blvd a mile or two north of 820) and rolled from there as a group. If I recall, 7a for breakfast if you wanted, or by 8a if you did not want to eat. We headed out between 8 and 8:15 to be at Bridgeport around 9. Is anyone interested in doing this again, it seemed to work well last time? Is there a different meeting point that may be more convenient? Throw out some suggestions if you have them.

I won't be able to make it out first thing in the morning, but I will be there by about 10am. I would like to meet up with the group once I arrive, can we agree to use CB channel 4. Also does anyone have a map of the trails in Bridgeport?

Yes you can leave you trailer with our trucks. Myself alone with many others trailer out rigs and you could just leave the trailer with them!

Dean what are you stuck in 4 low? or do you just got that low of axle gears. I got a couple of straps. We can strap you to the back of my trailer and I will pull you the whole way.

ORIGINAL: calpher Are we going to meet at JR Restaurant for breakfast like we did last time? Looks like some are interested in doing that again but not many replies either way. Dean says yes, but he needs to eat at 6 and leave by 7 to get there by 9 . Chris A is up for anything. A few others have said yes but not sure if that is to meeting at JR's or just going to b'port in general. Pretty sure Brad is coming based on conversations at the meeting, but he does not get on the forum much so someone may have to tell him if we decide to meet somewhere. I'm game for meeting at JR's but won't be there early to eat, just to meet up at 8ish for the ride out.

When I talked to Brad at the meeting he said he would come down to meet at JR's. But he is out by Azle somewhere! That seems a bit out of the way! As Mark said I am game for anything! The caravan thing worked well last time so we will see! It would also be nice to know who is going! I know there were a few nameless that said maybe. Mentioned something about power steering pumps! But they will remain nameless(xj guys)! LOL!

It appears I will have to delay the repair until later since Ken is running behind so I will run my rig as is. I will be at JR's early and if people can give me a number of who is coming I will call and will set the tables up. Is that good for you Chris?
