**Bridgeport Grand Opening Rescheduled** We have been notified by Ryan Nolting, Director of the Parks and Recreation Department that due to the continuing rains in the Bridgeport area the City of Bridgeport has rescheduled the Northwest ORV Park Grand Opening for October 10, 2009. The week long rains that continue to fall, have made Northwest ORV Park unsuitable for wheeling activities at this time; therefore we have no choice but to close the park for the weekend. We hope that everyone will understand the need to keep the trails in good condition and that wheeling at this time will cause extensive damage to the trails. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, October 10, 2009. Weather permitting, the park will be open for normal operating hours on September 26, 2009. The City of Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Department staff will be happy to answer any and all questions or concerns and can be reached at (940)683-3480
******************************************************************************************* ***ATTENTION FELLOW WHEELERS*** We are re-posting this in order to give a bit of advance notice to the north Texas area off-road clubs...a couple of slight changes have been made.
As noted, grand opening for Bridgeport Northwest ORV Park has now been rescheduled for Saturday, October 10th. We are looking for a few good rigs to help us present the park to new visitors
Ryan Nolting, Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Bridgeport has asked me to coordinate this venture and to assemble the list of volunteers.
We are needing about 15 - 20 capable rigs that have the ability to run a couple of the harder trails at the park to help us out on a "fun ride" event.
The press, some city officials, as well as any other visitors that just want to get a good taste of the park will be there to ride "shotgun" on a pre-arranged tour of about 15 - 20 minutes around the park, ending up the tour "with a bang" on a challenging trail or two...
Depending on how many are there for the the "ride along", it should take up to perhaps an hour or two total considering how many tours you take out, and then you will be free to wheel as you wish the rest of the day.
It should be a blast for those that will be willing to give us a hand on this, and at the same time get a chance to show off just what you and your rig can do on the rocks...be the talk of the town, so to speak.
15 - 20 of the more capable rigs that sign up will get the spots. We are looking for those that are those modified and confident enough to hit a hard trail or two...Step up and volunteer, this will no doubt be a great opportunity for a little exposure for those that get in on this!
***For your time and services, you will be awarded a free one day pass to the park for a future wheeling visit.***
We will need you to be on site by the time the park opens up at 8:00 a.m.
Please post up, and PM or call me @214-662-6384 ASAP if you can help us out.
Michelle and I will be working at the park opening weekend, and we would love to see you out there!
Thank you,
Steve Sprayberry
