Bathroom remodel Monday, August 29, 2011 6:32 PM (permalink)

I found out the who ever the builder of our house was decided to cut as many corners as possible. They tiled over dry wall in the bathrooms when the house was built. we now have a mold problem. I began tearing all the old tile and dry wall out. The problem is I do not know how to do tile work well enough to do a decent job, nor do I have the tools to complete the job. I have called several people that I my neighbors referred  me to. The people I called have not returned my calls. If anyone knows a good tile person let me know. I need to hire someone to finish this project.

Tiling with Backer (Hardy) Board is something they are doing on newer houses, I think all the older (60s) houses were built with drywall then tiled over.

My house was built in 1998.   they just cut every corner on it.  Every person I hired to do a repair on something at my house has said the same thing.  Who did this  $%&#.    ?      When I question the city inspector about this he said the poor quality is not their concern.   As usual I learn the hard way.  my house was built by Granite Homes  .  The owner also owns Premier Marble and they even did my counters tops wrong.   Again they did not care.
