BMRA Work Weekend - 4/21 Thursday, March 30, 2006 5:43 PM (permalink)
BMRA is having a work weekend starting April 21:   http://www.texasmotorizedtrails.com/Default.aspx?tabid=715   I'm thinking of going with the Toyota crew.  If I go, I'll help clean up the Toyota campsite and our dfw campsite/trail on Linda Gail.  And if it doesn't rain, I may camp for the night.  Otherwise, I'll just go for the day.

Dont forget about Saturday Night Live and Sunday Cruise.  Are those still DFW TX4WD trails?  Wish I was closer to the park, I would come help out, but that is a bit far to drive for a cleanup run!  YIKES!!

Sounds like me, Pat, Chris, Keith and his Dad are probable hopefuls and Phillip sounds like a definite for Friday night.   Anyone else planning on going this weekend?   Also, the local Toyota club claims you first have to give a list to **** Stuart of those planning on going to the cleanup and that you can't just show up.  Last time I went I just showed up at the gate unannounced and told 'em I came for the work weekend.  I checked the TMTC website but didn't seen anything on that issue.  Is this a new rule, or did they cut me some slack and let me in for free when I told him I came for the work weekend?

I'm not going to be able to make this one...   As far as the rule is concerned it sounds new to me because I usually just show up on work weekends and never have any issues getting in to help...

I will not be going to work weekend either.  T-Ball, moving my sister-in-law and other stuff on Saturday.   Ed - for the regular work weekends, TMTC should not need a list.  TMTC allows a club to go in other weekends to work on trails and to get in for free those weekends, they do need to be planned in advanced.

Not going to make it this time .  Money is one reason but the main one is the march of dimes is Saturday and I will be wearing my shirt I had made a couple of years ago that says"In Memory of Yim 11-22-01" in front and the back says Trisomy 18 "Bites".  it is a chromosome malfuction.  Its my way of doing something.  Make sure ya'll clean good and bring ant killer for the campsite to help to control them.

Keith's cousin is competing in the US Judo National Championships in Houston thie Friday and Saturday and I will be there for that.  As Keith said, originally I had planned on going to BMRA this weekend but I had forgotten about Houston.  (Sorry Keith)  Would also like to be there to watch Phil's axles get worked over but no such luck.

Hey Guys, sorry I missed y'all yesterday.  I got there around 9:30 - 10:00 and started working on the Toyota Trail Riders' campsite and Desi Way trail since I had promised them I'd help.  At around 1 p.m. I headed over to our camp and didn't see anyone, so I figured y'all were working some place else.  I trimmed a few branches at our campsite and worked a bit of Linda Gail trail.   Anyway, the whole place was empty yesterday.  There was hardly anyone there.  I did see a small group of Jeepers that had two 47 CJ2A's with them, so that was pretty cool.  Unfortunately, I didn't even think of taking pics.  Also, one of the Toyota guys flopped his Tacoma on Clyde's Ravine.  So he got a little bit of body damage, but his front ARB bumper and sliders saved it from what could've been even more damage.  I think body armor will be the next upgrade for my Tacoma.  Oh, and I also got to finally test out the Tundra coilovers I put on my Tacoma.  I had been driving it on the street for over a month, and they ride great on the street, but I can tell an uncomfortable difference off-road - way too stiff!  But hey, for $100, it's a pretty cheap lift!
