It's too big really to print on an 8.5x11 piece of paper. But the image size is fairly decent so...You have several options: A) buy a $2500 printer B) mooch off of someone with a $2500 printer C) have it printed at a photo lab D) send it off to an online photo lab I wish I could help out with option (B) but my printer ****ped out on my a couple months ago. But I can help you out with option (D) if you like. That is the way to go as It is much cheaper to outsource than to buy expensive inks for expensive printers...(in my opinion) http://www.mpix.com/productsinfo.aspx

One other Option I just thought of: If you have a decent 8.5x11" printer, you could print it out on four pages horizontally on the paper, then tape it all together and have yourself a fold-out map. If you want to try that I can set it up for you.

so your saying when you print it out at home the map is to big to be printed on 8.5x11 paper and is that why the orange and blue colors that mark the trails don't show up as good as they do on the screen? you can see them they just don't stand out.

Yeah, those colored maps are awesome. TTR leadership passed them out to the trail leaders at the Jambo. Since I led one of the beginner's groups, I got a map. You're more than welcome to copy it, but I already laminated it at Kinko's, so I don't know how to get it copied like that. Two other options I can think of off the top of my head are: 1) I'd be glad to ask the TTR leadership if they'd be willing to share any extra printed copies, that is, if any exist; 2) Save the image on disk, then go to Kinko's, Office Depot, etc., and have them print it out. Don't know how much that would cost, though, but my guess is that it shouldn't be that much. I'll get back to you when I get a response from TTR on whether they have any extra copies to share....

Dang, guess I got jipped by the Kinko's across from where I work. Paid more than $4 to laminate mine. Sounds like Staples is the place to go.

Just got a PM from Matt, the current TTR Prez. He was kind enough to print one or two out from his work's color printer today, but he says they didn't come out as well as he thought they would. I offered to pick them up anyway sometime later this month, probably at the next TTR monthly meeting.

Great map - I would just like it to look good on 8.5 x 11 so I could carry in the rig with me.

Like Dave said, it's just north, northwest of a small town in northeast Texas called Gilmer. From I-20 east, take the exit for Hwy. 155 (the exit sign will say Big Sandy and Gilmer). Go north on 155 all the way to Gilmer. Once in Gilmer, continue on 155 (it'll split to the right across from the Chinese Buffet). Keep going for about 10 more minutes and the entrance will be on your right as you're cresting a small hill and the road turns into 4 lanes. There's a sign for the park that's kind of small and hard to see, so slow down when you get to that part. The park (aka "BMRA") is about 1500-1800 acres in size - real puny compared to the tens of thousands of acres of public land available out West, but for the rest of the country, it's a fairly common size as far as private OHV parks go. I forget the entrance fee, but it should be anywhere from $15 to $20, give or take a few. Annual memberships are available which reduce the entrance fee somewhat. Camping at the park is extra. The park does have hot showers (when the hot water heater is working) by the front office and several primitive campgrounds as you can see on the map. Our club "sponsors" a campsite on Linda Gail trail. Anyone can camp there, but the club commits to maintaining it by cleaning it up and trimming any overgrowth. It also has a porta-potty (as do many of the other primitive campsites). Most folks camp at Old Camp, though, and lately at the TTR camp (formerly the North TX Binder's camp) ever since they constructed a covered "bar". There's also an RV campsite. Since I don't have an RV, though, I don't remember if it has water and electrical hookups. Oddly enough, one of the entrances/exits for Greenlane trail is right behind the RV park, allowing the RV'ers to witness break downs and the use of straps for stock vehicles and poor driver's like me to make it up that hill! If weather isn't amenable to camping, there are two motels in Gilmer - the Executive Inn and the Gilmer Inn. I've heard rumors that both are owned by the same person, which would probably explain why neither motel ever offers any discounts for BMRA patrons. The Executive Inn is the newer and nicer of the two, though, in my opinion, but they're both right next to each other. If they're both full, the next closest motels would be in Tyler, about half an hour south of Gilmer. Although Gilmer is a small town, it has an Autozone, a Super Walmart, and I think it also has an O'Reilly's if I remember correctly. Just something to think about it if you need an extra camping item from Walmart or a part for your rig from Autozone. Otherwise, you can hope that one of the dealers in Tyler might have a harder to find part. Our club's premier event, the Mega Run, will be held at BMRA at the end of this month. If you want, maybe you can caravan with one of us on the way. Hope to see ya there!

Forgot to mention, BMRA (Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area) is owned by the Texas Motorized Trails Coalition (TMTC), a non-profit organization whose roots stem from regular, Texas wheelers who decided to join together and do something about the lack of wheeling areas in Texas. Their website is at www.texasmotorizedtrails.com. Their website also has a link to BMRA, but when I clicked on it yesterday, the link wouldn't work. They recently added a forum to their website to improve communication with TMTC members and the public.

Ed answered where it is but some of us take a different route to get there...I go down Interstate 20 when exit 271 and go through Gladewater to Gilmer which to me is easier. as for the hotels I stayed in both and they have the same stuff even the same carpet but the Executive Inn has a coffee maker and a blow dryer so to me it was better at the Gilmer Inn just to save a buck. Just join a caravan....
