B/CS Chapter October Meet at BVORR

The B/CS chapter has been tossing around the idea of hosting a statewide meet at BVORR for TX4WD members. We and are looking to see what kind of interest is out there. We haven't nailed down the details, but we've pretty much decided on the weekend of october 9-10.

We want this to be affordable and family oriented. There will be a small gate fee and that's it. We're hoping to come up with some door prizes that will be given out as well. Also, the B/CS chapter will sponsor the Saturday night meal.

We think this will be a great opportunity for all the chapter members to get to know each other in real life and on the trails. It will also give Teresa and Tim a chance to meet more club members.

Please let us know if this is of interest to you and/or your chapter. We also welcome feedback and suggestions since this is our first attempt to host an event like this. We are not looking to make this a fundraiser, but to bring the organization together.

Hopefully this will be a huge success and we can build on it from here.

This will be a great event to welcome the new and improved statewide TX4WD organization.  The Brazos Valley Off Road Ranch is a 280 acre park in the heart of Aggieland (about three hours south of the metroplex) and is the home of the Bryan/College Station Chapter of TX4WD.  http://www.brazosvalleyoffroadranch.com/

B/CS is hosting this event to promote unity between the chapters and introduce everyone who has not been there to what looks like a great park!

This is not an official event yet, so post your interest and let's help B/CS decide to go through with putting this on by expressing interest in attending!

Safety Regulations
 

1. Roll bar or factory hard top must exist
2. Safety belts are to be in working order and present
3. Fire extinguisher in all vehicles
4. Tow hooks must be in place
5. Street legal exhaust system no open headers, or open exhaust systems

Unfortantly i break rule 5 due to my truck being over 30years old...
 
but this does seem fun

Is it street legal (exempt due to age)?  Might be a loophole for you.  It is certainly a question that the B/CS folks may have an answer for.

I am down for that, have to check with Mary as her birthday is the 10th.

Yes it is street legal due to age. only reason its techinally not street legal is cause i dont drive it on the road so i dont have insurance and never renewed the registeration

Please join us for a weekend meet at Brazos Valley Off Road Ranch October 9-10, 2010. We want to offer an inexpensive, family friendly event so we can attract as many TX4WD members as possible. If you are not familiar with BVORR, feel free to check out the website and ask questions if you still are unsure about something.

I will be updating this post/thread as more details become available. We will have an online signup with a Paypal option setup soon and I will provide a link to that once we have it up. We are asking for signups so we know how much food we need for Saturday night.

Here are the details thus far:
Dates: October 9-10
$10 per adult gate fee - camping fee waived
Saturday morning arrivals 7 am - 9 am
Driver/Safety meeting 9 am
Wheelin' 'til lunch
"Recovery 201" 1 pm
Wheelin' 'til dinner
B/CS Chapter will sponsor and cook Saturday evening meal
Night Wheelin'
Wheel Sunday 'til noon
Depart by 2 pm

FYI, the Recovery 201 class looks like it will include a water rescue.  There will be a rig placed in the middle of the creek and recovered.  Additionally, depending on the burn ban situation at the time of the event, there is discussion of a fire recovery session as well.

Let's show our support for the new TX4WD and for the B/CS chapter for putting on this event!

Man I wish I had my rig built. I started wheeling at that park. It's been years since I've been back. If y'all go please get some pics for me. I'd love to see how it looks now.

BVORR is definitely not for those with a fear of heights lol

So who, if any are trying to make this run?

We should ALL try to make this run to show support for the new TX4WD.

Im going  to try and make it out with a few from college station.  It would be just as expensive for me to go to shiloh ridge and wheel so eh.

I willl have everything but the tow hooks at that point. Is there a way to hook up something on my rear bumper where the tow ball goes ? If so that only leaves me trying to get the front bumper ready some how.
