DFW-TX4WD DISCUSSION FORUMS

SOME BASIC RULES

1. This is not a closed system. Any message you post could be read by the public at large. Segments of messages from this system have been quoted on other discussion boards. If you don't want your messages to be public, don't post.

2. Every user of this system will be required to REGISTER before being able to access and post to the closed forums. Any user leaving a false name or other fictitious data will be removed immediately. Repeated attempt to register will result in a ban of your IP. A valid e-mail address is required and will be verified before you will be allowed to post. Your E-mail address will not be published, sold or shared, we do respect your right to privacy. You may elect at registration to hide your E-mail address. Your REAL NAME will be displayed on your posting signature line and placed in the appropriate fields in the profile form. If you have a problem with this, don't register. If you do not leave your first and last names in the required areas, your registration will be deleted. We believe we have the right to know who you are if you are using our system.

3. This system is a family oriented system. Any language or behaviors that do not conform to common decency will result in warnings, privilege reductions, or banning from the system. Don't push the issue, we are dead serious about this one. There will be no exceptions, for anybody. The moderators, admin and BOD reserve the right to edit or remove any post at any time - FOR ANY REASON. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, harrasment, etc. is determined by the clubs management and not general users. If you want to have a say in the boards policies - GET ACTIVE with the club on a higher level!

4. We are all here for the same reason, to share our love of the sport. Keep it friendly.

5. This system is designed for DFW area users, please refer to the main Tx4WD hub site (www.tx4WD.org) to find the chapter nearest you. If you just want to join in on the discussions and are not local, please register, we value everyone's opinion and experiences. We also require that you include your real name in your "Signature" and you must include a location. New members are also required to attend a club meeting or run within the first 2 months of joining. Members are also required to attend at least one meeting or run each quarter to remain as active members. Finally, when posting and replying on the board, please respect fellow members...

6. Please remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this club. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.

7. You agree, through your use of this board, that you will not use this BB to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violates any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this club.

8. Any item or items listed for sale here must be placed for sale by the user for the user. No commercial interests are allowed or will be tolerated. If you need to make sales for your business, use the yellow pages or the newspaper. No banned or illegal items will be allowed. These rules are simple and easy to follow. I don't like rules, but we need to have a behavioral standard to follow. Please report any abuse of the system to me personally, and I will address it with all due haste. If you have any questions please Send mail to any Board member.

RE: A few basic rules.... Tuesday, August 12, 2008 11:52 PM (permalink)
Hey everybody.  We've been talking about the forums lately.  The message above was posted by Griz over two years ago.  This club collectively decided on the rules Griz posted up.

Several long time members have been contacting me, the President, and other Board Members about the state of the forum lately.

We (the officers and board members) have become lax in helping to encourage a family friendly environment on this board.  We all want to have fun, but not at the expense of anyone on this forum.  We are asking everyone on this forum to consider their language, topic, and how you interact with other members before you post or reply.

If you had a six year old daughter, and didn't want her to read what you are posting, then do not post it.  This is a family forum.

There are many 4wd sites on the internet with zero or no moderation, such as Pirate4x4.com.  We DO NOT want to be a Pirate4x4.com.

         Thank you for your consideration,

The officers and board of DFW-TX4WD
