14 yr old burned over 90% of his body !!!

Right now there is a lot of talk about what we are thankful for, lots of angel trees and toys for tots asking for help.  Here in in our small town of Millsap, Tx a 14 yr old boy Garrison Rayne Newby was badly burned Wednesday evening.  Rayne goes to school with my boys, he played football and was very active in the school.  He was careflighted to Parkland hospital in Dallas, where is expected to stay for approx 6 months.  His mother and older brother are staying at Ronald McDonald house right by the hospital to be close during his long road to recovery. They are starting the first of many proceedures tomorrow morning at 6 am he will need blood during each proceedure.
 
Here are a few things that you can do to help.
 
1) Donate  to Ronald Mc Donald House in Garrison Rayne Newby's name
 
2)Donate Blood at Carter Blood Center in Garrison Rayne Newby's name
 
3) Take a country drive and eat spagetti? Spagetti Supper fundraiser at Millsap Middle School Dec 5th starting at  4:30 pm
 
4) Send them a card to Carrie Larkin/Rayne Newby's Family C/O  Ronald Mc Donald House 3625 N. Hall St. Dallas Tx. 75219-5106
 
There are a lot of worthy causes out there.  This one matters to me. If you have personal knowledge of the Parkland Systems (traffic shorcuts, close eatery locations, or any inside info) that will make their stay easier stop by, show them around, give them a hug. Let them know that you heard their story and it touched your heart.                                                                        Thanks

I dont see anywhere to donate in Garrison's name on their website. Is there a way to ensure that my donation goes directly to his fund?

I feel for this kid.  I have a 3rd degree burn on my hand.  Its going to be a long hard road.
 
It would be cool if we could do a club roll to the spaghetti thing or something.  It is to far and to early for me though.

in weatherford at First National Bank an account has been set up in "Carrie Larkin and Rayne Newby" name . mail a check to Carrie Larkin or Rayne Newby , P.O. box730 weatherford tx 76086 . or call the bank at (817) 598-4900 . At the Ronald McDonald house it cost 15$ a day for the family to stay .a check through the mail is the only way to specify that the money goes directly to Rayne's account , make checks payable to Ronald McDonald house of dallas . mail it to Ronald McDonald house of dallas , c/o Amy Hatfield house manager , 4707 bengal st , dallas tx 75235. enclose a letter stating funds are for Garrison Rayne Newby,

I also checked out their Facebook page that was linked to the news story. Reading the posts from his friends and family kinda got me teary eyed =/
Praying for Rayne Newby

we are going to have a blood drive on the 17th , tentatively, waiting on final confirmation . several sponsors have said they would donate some stuff for a raffle. 4 wheel parts , allen samuels alliance , rock and roll offroad , and the parks department with the city of bridgeport, have all donated some goodies . everyone is invited to attend . club or not . i think a little friendly competition between clubs could be fun , see who donates the most blood . ill start a new thread with details as i get more . spread the word its going to be a good one for a good cause .

Oh my gosh that is amazing! I hope they get this out to as many people as possible ASAP. I hope the government doesn't buy all the rights to it and stifle its potential...

My prayer go out to him and his family.... I had 3rd degree over 90% of both legs. Its was a long painful road.... Plz keep us posted on his progress....

not much has changed he still has several procedures every week . he did get to sit up for the first time since the accident . that was last week sometime . he also had a small infection in one of his kidneys , but that is all gone now. he is expected to be there close to a year if not more . ill only update once in a while or if anything changes . or i can be pm'ed if anyone has specific questions or wants info .

is there another blood drive setup?  i thought i saw somthing about one at rock city.

we were going to try for march 10th , but there is alot going on in march . im worried people will not want to wheel the week before or the week after a big trip ... whats your thoughts ?
 

probly right about wheelin. but this group is always lookin for a reason to get together, and this is a good reason! we can give blood then do karaoke.

whaty if i said its a camping weekend at bridgeport and if you donate blood you get in free ?????
 

I bet some people would go for that.
Also, I agree that you might have better turn out if it's not so close to Mega Run.
